Ellie Shin
Ellie is a senior in Cabot House studying Biomedical Science and Engineering with a Citation in Chinese Language. In the future, she hopes to earn an MD-PhD and work as a physician-scientist in dermatology/immunology. Outside of THURJ, Ellie works on epigenetic assay development research in the Slack lab at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In her free time, she enjoys calling home, taking walks, building LEGO models, and trying new restaurants in Boston. She is super excited for another amazing year of THURJ journals!

David An
David An is a sophomore in Eliot House thinking of concentrating in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. In addition to systematic reviews in high school, he has been conducting research on the effect of mechanical forces on human endothelial cell morphology with the García-Cardeña Lab since the fall of 2023. As a Co-Managing Editor of Peer Review, he hopes to take on more responsibility and leadership in the organization to help Harvard undergraduates learn how to conduct a variety of research.

Christine Zhang
Christine is a sophomore in Dunster studying Neuroscience. Outside of THURJ, she is also involved in The Crimson and PBHA volunteering. As a Co-Managing Editor of Design this semester, she's excited to incorporate more graphical elements and infographics into the journal as well as mentor new compers!

Aditya Tummala
Aditya Tummala is a junior in Lowell House studying Biomedical Engineering.
He has been passionate about addiction science research throughout his life and is currently working in the Bonmassar Lab in the A.A. Martinos Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital on developing novel implants for deep brain stimulation. Hailing from the small town of Brookings, South Dakota, he loves playing soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball, fishing, and just spending some quality time with friends. As a Co-Business Manager of THURJ, Aditya hopes to empower undergraduate students with a platform for showcasing their cutting-edge research, inspiring others to do the same.

Yewon Lee
Yewon Lee is a junior in Currier House studying Chemistry with a Secondary in History. Interested in how reactions occur on the biological scale, Yewon currently works in the Woo Lab on elucidating glycosylation pathways using small molecules and previously synthesized novel drug-delivering nanoparticles with the Center for Engineered Therapeutics. Outside of THURJ, Yewon can be found serving as a first responder on Harvard's campus, organizing cultural conferences, and running advocacy projects. In her free time, she enjoys being a part of the Asian American Dance Troupe and mountain biking. As the Tech Manager, Yewon hopes to expand manuscript accessibility by creating interactive virtual spaces for student researchers.
Internal Relations Manager
Nolberto Martinez
Originally from Albion, NY, Nolberto is currently a senior in Currier House concentrating in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a secondary in History. He is currently working in the Chen Lab at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and is focusing on trying to regenerate hair cells in the mature inner ear through Pou4f3-Atoh1 reprogramming. A main passion of his is also breast cancer, and he runs his own Cancer Pillow Program here at Harvard. Some of his other interests include crocheting, hanging out with friends, and hiking through nature trails back home. He is excited to be the Internal Relations Manager and serve as the main contact point amongst the growing THURJ team to ensure that everyone feels welcome, and contribute to THURJ’s overall success.

Charlie Bratton
Charlie is a sophomore in Kirkland and is originally from upstate South Carolina. He is currently planning to pursue a double concentration in Computational Neuroscience and Psychology on the pre-med track. This summer, he has plans to launch his neuroscientific research pursuits at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine in Charlotte, North Carolina, under Dr. Vincent Rossi. His other activities at Harvard include CrimsonEMS and Air Force ROTC. Some of his favorite hobbies are flying, playing the guitar, competing in rifle competitions, and tinkering with cars. He is super excited to be serving as the Co-External Relations Manager this year and looks forward to making lifelong friends and connections!

Hugh Hankenson
Hugh is a junior in Adams House studying Social Studies and Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology. In the future, he hopes to pursue an MD-PhD and work at the intersection of the biomedical and social sciences, focusing on expanding health access and improving health outcomes. Outside of THURJ, Hugh works cellular immunotherapies in the Mooney lab at the Wyss Institute and researches medical debt with Dr. Luke Messac. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Boston by bike, reading, and playing chess. He looks forward to another great year with THURJ!

April Keyes
April, originally from Massachusetts, is a junior in Winthrop House studying Chemical and Physical Biology with a secondary in Neuroscience. She is interested in structural biology, therapeutic development, and improving science literacy. Since her freshman year, she has worked in the Indzhykulian Lab, utilizing x-ray crystallography and protein modeling techniques to support the development of a novel eyesight therapeutic. Outside of THURJ, she is involved in PBHA Experimentors and the Harvard Undergraduate Research Association, and in her free time loves to run by the river and read. As a Co-Managing Editor of Peer Review, she is very excited to uplift and publish amazing undergraduate research on campus.

Saketh Sundar
Saketh is a sophomore in Dunster studying Neuroscience. He is currently pursuing research at the BWH Center for Neurological Imaging. Outside of THURJ, Saketh is a reporter for The Harvard Crimson, and leads Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad. Saketh is excited to help foster a community of scientific writers as a Co-Managing Editor of Content with THURJ.

Catherine Feng
Catherine Feng is a sophomore in Quincy planning on studying either Molecular and Cellular Biology or Statistics, with a secondary in Art, Film, and Visual Studies. Catherine is passionate about computational biology and oncology research, and is currently working with Dr. David Liu at Dana Farber Cancer Institute studying the metastasis of melanomas. Outside of classes, Catherine enjoys making art and spending time with friends.

Avi Agarwal
Avi is a sophomore in Leverett House studying Government and Economics . Outside of THURJ, Avi is part of the Harvard Political Review and Behavioral Strategy Group. Avi also likes testing out new recipes to bake and reading about geography and history. As a Co-Business Manager, he is eager to grow undergraduate research by identifying new opportunities to fund innovative ideas.

Himani Yarlagadda
Himani Yarlagadda is a sophomore in Pforzheimer House studying Applied Mathematics and Global Health and Health Policy. She has conducted research on the effects of single amino acid mutations in a key surface protein of Burrelia burgdorferia, the causative agent of Lyme disease. Outside of classes, research, and THURJ, Himani is involved in the Tech and Global Health Institute, the Strong Woman Strong Girls, and the Harvard Undergraduate Health Policy Review. As a Co-Tech Manager, she is excited to integrate functional design with digital resources to represent THURJ and its vision online.

Maria Xu
Maria is a sophomore in Leverett planning on concentrating in Neuroscience & Statistics. Since 2023, Maria has been conducting research in the Valera lab, studying the effects of traumatic brain injury in survivors of intimate partner violence. She is excited to enter her second semester as a Co-External Relations Manager; she hopes to use the position to promote undergraduate research among the Harvard student body, in collaboration with department deans, libraries, and other student organizations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and taking walks.
